Relative Strength Index (RSI)

What is Relative Strength Index (RSI)?

The relative strength index is a momentum indicator that scores recent price gains versus losses on a scale of 0 to 100. By convention, readings above 70 are called overbought and below 30 oversold.

Why it matters

The RSI is popular for spotting stretched moves, but in strong trends it can stay at extremes. Use it with other information.
