What is Leverage?
Leverage means using borrowed money or financial instruments to increase the size of an investment beyond what you could afford with your own cash.
Why it matters
Leverage magnifies gains but also losses, and you can lose more than you invested. Leveraged ETFs and margin accounts are examples.
