What is Emerging Markets?
Emerging markets are countries with developing economies that are growing quickly, such as India, Brazil and others, and whose financial markets are less mature than those in the US or Western Europe.
Why it matters
They can offer faster growth but come with higher risks, including currency swings, political change and weaker investor protections. Many investors hold them through funds.
